One challenge that many people face is caring for an elder adults while maintaining work responsibilities. We know that many employees need time off work to accommodate for doctor's appointments and other daily care needs. In addition, they have worries about the care their loved one is receiving while they are working.

• Caring For an Older Relative
The care of elder relatives can involve multiple decisions and challenges. Employees can find ways to help their elderly parent while coping with the demands of this responsibility.

•Balancing Work and Care of an Elder Relative
Learn ways to cope with the demand of day to day work responsibilities as well as caring for an elder. We will discuss the need for self-care as we face this challenging situation. We will explore options for assistance and discuss the ways to communicate needs.

•The Sandwich Generation: Bridging the Gap
Many employees find themselves sandwiched in between caring for children and elder relatives. Everyone has needs and they are pulled in different directions. This seminar will allow participants to share their struggles and find solutions to the challenges they face.

•Coping with Loss, the Journey through Bereavement
One aspect of care that sometimes is faced is coping with the loss of another. Sometimes we must cope with our own sorrow while assisting others with their pain. We will address the stages of grief and provide ideas to assist ourselves and others through this difficult process.

When faced with the challenges and joys of caring for an elderly relative, it is important to know what options and opportunities are in our community and how to access them.

We are fortunate to have many resources in our community to assist with Elder Care. We will explore these resources and help employees make decisions about what types of care their elderly relative requires.

•Accessing Quality Care for Elder Adults
When faced with the difficult decision for finding care for our elderly relative, we want to make sure they are well taken care of and safe. Ideas will be shared on determining the quality of care and consideration when decision making. In addition, the importance of communication with care providers will be examined in order to make sure that our loved ones are safe and healthy.
